To add the map as a web clip to the Home screen on an Apple iPhone or iPad, tap in the browser toolbar, then tap Add to Home Screen. On the next screen which appears, edit the web clip name (if desired) then tap Add to add the icon for the map to your Home screen. Doing this allows you to run the map in the same way as any application: by tapping its icon on the Home screen. When run like this, browser toolbars no longer appear so the map will occupy more of the screen and will be easier to use.
Similar techniques for adding the map to the home screen are also available on Android devices.
Creating an Account
Registration is not required in order to use the map. However, if you do register, you will gain access to advanced features and additional property information. To register, click the LOG IN button which appears in the bar above the map, then click the Go to Registration page button on the Map Log In dialog box which appears.
To create an account, you must provide your name, email address, telephone number, and the password you want to use to log in to the map. For security reasons, once you create an account you will receive an email with instructions on how to confirm your password. Once you confirm, you can log in by clicking the LOG IN button and providing your email address and password. Mark the Remember Me checkbox if you want to automatically log in every time you visit the map page from the same browser. Your account and password is valid for 30 days but can be renewed.
When you are logged in to the map, a variety of map data is saved automatically when you leave the map page and restored when you return and log in (even if you return on a different computer). Here is what is saved:
- The map position, zoom level, and view type.
- The property types you have selected for display on the map.
- The list of properties you have marked as favourites.
- The list of saved search queries.
- Custom search regions you have created.
- The setting of the Solds button and how many days of sold data to show.
- The setting of the Expireds button and how many days of expired data to show.
- The setting of the Schools button.
- The setting of the Hospitals button.
- The setting of the Agricultural Land Reserve button.
More information is also shown for properties in most regions when you are logged in:
- Room information (name, dimensions, level)
- Bathroom information (number of pieces, ensuite status)
- Number of finished storeys in the home
- Basement information
- Finished floor area for each level in the home
- Unfinished floor area
- Renovations information
- Flooring type

When you are logged in a (Tap to LOG OUT) button appears above the map. To log out, tap the button to save the current state of the map to your account and prevent further changes from being saved. (You are automatically logged out when you close the map unless you marked the Remember Me checkbox when you logged in. This Remember Me feature works only if you fully enable the use of cookies on your browser. On an iOS device, for example, turn off Settings → Safari → Block All Cookies.)
If you forget your log in password, click the LOG IN button to show the Map Log In page, click the Go to Change Password page button on this page, then provide your email address and a new password. To change your password, log out first, then follow the same steps. Instructions on how to confirm the new password will then be sent to your email address. The new password is activated as soon as you confirm.
Basic Map Navigation
- Zooming. There are several ways to zoom the map in and out:
- If you are using a desktop computer, use the scroll wheel on your mouse.
- Use the zoom tool on the right side of the map.
- If you are using a touchscreen device, use standard pinching gestures.
- Click a cluster marker — this is a marker with a number on it which indicates how many properties are represented. As you zoom in, individual property markers will begin to appear.
- Double-click at a location where you want the map centered. This also zooms the map in by one level.
- When using devices with a physical keyboard, you can use the Shift-drag technique to zoom in to a specific area of the map currently in view. To do this, hold down a Shift key while clicking and dragging the mouse from one corner of the area to the opposite corner, then release the mouse button. To cancel the operation, release the Shift key before releasing the mouse button.
- Press the + key on the keyboard to zoom in one level and the - key to zoom out one level. This works when the map has focus; if it doesn't already have focus (because a pop-up menu or a text entry box is active), click once inside the map frame first.
- Centering. Centre the map around a point by double-clicking the desired point. This also zooms the map in by one level.
- Panning. View neighbouring regions by clicking in the map and dragging the mouse to move the map. You can also move the map directly to a region of interest by clicking the Move Map to… button in the bottom right corner of the map and then clicking the desired region name in the list which appears. (This may also change the zoom level.) To cancel a move, click the close box in the top right corner of the list.
Click the location tool on the right side of the map to centre the map around your current location. Your location is indicated by a blue marker at the centre of a blue circle. The size of the circle reflects the precision of the determined location.
Use the left-, right-, up-, and down-arrow keys on the keyboard to pan the map a small distance to the west, east, north, and south, respectively. When using macOS, hold down the fn key while pressing an arrow key to pan the map a greater distance; for Windows, use the Home, End, Pg Up, and Pg Dn keys. This works when the map has focus; if it doesn't already have focus (because a pop-up menu or a text entry box is active), click once inside the map frame first.
- Changing View. Select a standard Street Map view or a Satellite view by toggling the View button in the top left corner of the map.
In some geographic areas a tilted (45°) aerial view may be available when the Satellite view is on. In this situation, three more buttons appear on the right side of the map. One lets you toggle the tilted view on and off; the others let you rotate the map clockwise or counterclockwise in 90° (¼-turn) increments.

Measuring. You can measure distances on the map using the Measurement tool which appears on the right side of the map. To use this tool, first click it, then click the start of the line you wish to measure. Next, click the end of the line — the distance from the starting point (called the segment distance) will be shown in a yellow distance box near the middle of the line segment. Keep clicking to measure additional line segments which begin at the previous end point. To stop measuring, double-click the map.
When you stop measuring, the line segments remain on the map with a Done button in a yellow box near the top edge of the map. This box also shows the total distance of all line segments and the area of the object being measured (to calculate the area, a line segment is assumed to run from the end of the last segment to the start of the first). To remove the segments from the screen, click the Done button.
You can modify the positions of the line segments after you have stopped measuring. Simply drag the solid squares shown at the end points of the segments. To add more segments, drag the dimmed squares shown mid way along a line segment. After you make a change, an "undo" button appears; click it to cancel the change.
Click a solid square at either end of a line segment to remove the point; the line segments will be redrawn automatically.
While you are measuring you can cancel at any time by clicking the Cancel button in the yellow box near the top edge of the map.
Searching
Location Search . To quickly move the map directly to a location of interest, use the input box in the bar above the map. As you type in the box, attempts are made to match (1) a BC address, (2) the name of a major city or town elsewhere in Canada, (3) the street address, MLS® Number, or postal code of a property for sale, recently sold (in the Vancouver, Fraser Valley, or Chilliwack regions), or recently expired (in the Vancouver, Fraser Valley, or Chilliwack regions), (4) a provincial abbreviation (e.g., BC), (5) the name of a neighbourhood, and (6) the name of a strata building (in the Vancouver, Fraser Valley, or Chilliwack regions). The words in the address you provide can be entered in any order. (If order is important, enclose the sequence of words in quotation marks.) The results are shown in a scrollable list below the box and are divided into several categories: BC Addresses, Cities & Towns, Neighbourhoods, MLS® For Sale, MLS® Sold, MLS® Expired, and Strata Buildings; tap an item in the list to select it. Tap anywhere outside the list to cancel the search.
Power Tip: BC address searches support intersection lookups so you can specify locations such as Broadway & Granville or 4th & Alma, for example.
Filter Search . Tap above the map to show the Search page which provides several filters for performing a property search. Here are several search filters you can specify to limit the group of properties shown on the map:
- The geographic region to search (a region which you can define). See below for details on how to define custom regions.
- The property type: Houses, Apartments, Townhouses, Manufactureds on Pad, Multi-Family, Vacant Lots, Commercial. (Subcategories of Apartments are also provided but these are only for properties in the Vancouver, Fraser Valley, or Chilliwack regions.)
- Whether to include, exclude, or show only leasehold (including First Nations leases), co-operative, time share, and undivided interest properties.
- The minimum price.
- The maximum price.
- The minimum price per sqft.
- The maximum price per sqft.
- The maximum maintenance fee.
- If properties For Sale are shown:
- When the property was listed for sale (days on market).
- Whether to also include a property whose price changed.
- When the property price was changed.
- If Solds are shown:
- When the property was sold.
- If Expireds are shown:
- When the property listing expired.
- The minimum number of bedrooms.
- The minimum number of bathrooms.
- The minimum and maximum house size.
- The maximum age of the house or a range of ages.
- The minimum and maximum lot size.
- The minimum lot frontage.
- The desired features: Waterfront, View, Fireplace, Pool, Workshop, Suite. (Some of these options work only for properties listed in the Vancouver, Fraser Valley, or Chilliwack regions.)
- Whether the property is on the favourites list.
- Whether the property has a video tour associated with it.
- Whether the property is a Court-Ordered Sale. Such sales must be approved by the Supreme Court of British Columbia and include foreclosures and other distressed transactions. (This option works only for properties listed in the Vancouver, Fraser Valley, or Chilliwack regions.)
- Whether a property previously sold in the past 12, 24, or 36 months.
- Whether a property has a future open house scheduled. Use the adjacent pop-up menu to indicate the day of the open house: Any day, Today, Saturday, Sunday.
- The keywords included in the property's description. This powerful feature is described in the next two sections.
Keyword Searching. If you know the MLS® number for a property, its street address, its real estate board neighbourhood name, its city, its province, or you're looking for properties in a specific postal code area, you can quickly find the properties and show them on the map by entering the MLS® number, street address, neighbourhood, city, province, or postal code in this box. A keyword search also looks for matches in the name of a strata building (but be aware that these names are often not provided by listing agents).
If you are searching for a specific street address it is sufficient to type in just the street number and street name (enclosed in quotation marks for best results), or either one of the two. It's best not to include the street type (e.g., Road, Avenue, Street, etc.) since sometimes properties on the same street have been entered inadvertently by the Real Estate Board with different street types (Road instead of Avenue, and vice versa, for example) or with abbreviated street types.
A keyword search also looks for a specific keyword or phrase that appears in the property's Description field. Here are a few examples: "tennis court", "wok kitchen", "leed gold", "heated floors", "priced to sell", "sharply priced", "below assessed value", "lot value", "move in ready", discount, TLC, "fixer upper", "pride in ownership", "tear down", investment, renovated, cul-de-sac.
Power Tip: Use * to represent two consecutive digits of a street number in a street address of a property (regardless of their values). Combine this with a hundred-block number to find properties for sale on a particular city block. For example, type 45* to look for properties for sale on a 4500-block. Similarly, you can use *E to look only for even numbers on the block and *O (that's the letter O, not a zero) to look only for odd numbers.
Advanced Keyword Searching. If you enter multiple words in the keyword search box, the search looks for a property that includes all the words in any order. This is called an AND search. (Words can be separated by a space or a comma.) If order is important, enclose the group of words in quotation marks: "pride in ownership", for example, finds properties where these three words appear in the order specified.
If you want to to look for any one or more of a group of words, enclose the words in parentheses: (squash, tennis) court, for example, will find properties containing the words squash or tennis as well as the word court. This is called an OR search.
To look for properties that do not contain a particular word, put a hyphen in front of the word. This is called a NOT search. For example, Kitsilano -heritage would find properties in Kitsilano that do not include the word heritage.
By default, a keyword search examines seven different fields to look for the presence of a keyword or phrase. To speed up the search as well as prevent matches in fields of no interest, you can choose the specific field you want to search by preceding the keyword with the name of the field followed by a : character. Here are the field names you can use:
- mls — MLS® Number
- desc — Description
- addr — Street Address
- hood — Neighbourhood or Town
- city — City (Note: in some regions, the city field is empty; use the hood field instead.)
- prov — Provincial Abbreviation (e.g., BC)
- code — Postal Code
For example, to search just the MLS Number field, use a search command such as this — MLS:R1234567. To search the street address field, where the address you're looking for is quoted in order to maintain the word order, put the field name after the opening quotation mark, like this — "ADDR:E 10th Avenue".
IMPORTANT: Be sure there are no space characters immediately before or after the : character.
There are also a number of fields that a keyword search will not examine by default, but you can search them if you precede the keyword or phrase by the name of the field followed by a : character. Here are the field names:
- bldg — Name of Strata Building
- feat — Features & Amenities (Examples: "air conditioning", garden, storage, "vacuum - built in", "private yard", "cul-de-sac", "jetted bathtub", pantry, "storage shed", "security system", "heat recovery ventilation")
- suite — Type of Suite (Examples: "legal suite", "licensed suite", none, other, "unauthorized suite")
- zone —Zoning (Examples: R-1, R1)
- roof — Roofing Material (Examples: asphalt, fibreglass, metal, other, "tar & gravel", "tile - composite", "tile - concrete", torch-on, wood)
- heat — Heating Fuel (Examples: baseboard, electric, "forced air", geothermal, "heat pump", "hot water", mixed, "natural gas", oil, other, pellet, "propane gas", radiant, solar, wood)
- water — Water Supply (Examples: cistern, city/municipal, community, none, other, other-licensed, sandpoint, "well - drilled", "well - shallow")
- levels — Number of Finished Storeys
- bsmt — Basement Type (Examples: crawl, full, "fully finished", none, part, "partly finished", "separate entry", unfinished)
- found — Foundation Type (Examples: "concrete block", "concrete perimiter", none, other, "preserved wood", "concrete slab")
- extfin — Exterior Finish (Examples: aluminum, brick, concrete, glass, "fibre cement board", log, metal, mixed, other, stone, stucco, vinyl, wood)
- sewer — Sewer Type (Examples: community, "holding tank", lagoon, sanitation, septic, other, none, city/municipal)
- fire — Fireplace Count and Fuel (Examples: a number or electric, "propane gas", "natural gas", none, other, pellet, wood)
- con — Construction Type (Examples: brick, concrete, "concrete block", "concrete frame", "frame - metal", "frame - wood", log, manufactured/mobile, modular/prefab, other)
- out — Outside Features (Examples: balcony, patio, deck, "fenced yard", "rooftop deck", sundeck)
- floor — Flooring (Examples: carpet, concrete, hardwood, laminate, mixed, other, softwood, tile, vinyl/linoleum, wall/wall/mixed)
- parking — Parking Count and Type (Examples: a number or "additional parking available", "carport & garage", "carport; multiple", "carport; single", "detached garage/carport", "garage under building", "garage; double", "garage; single", "garage; triple", "garage; underground", "garage; double tandem", none, open, other, "rv parking available", "tandem parking", "visitor parking")
- guestmin — Minimum size of a secondary guest house (in sqft)
- rules — Strata Rules (Examples: 55+, "age restrictions", "pets allowed", "pets allowed with restrictions", "pets not allowed", "smoking restrictions")
In general, the example keywords and phrases shown above relate to properties listed with Greater Vancouver REALTORS®, Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, or Chilliwack & District Real Estate Board only. Other boards in the province may use different keywords in these fields or provide no information at all.
When you have finished setting up values for the search filters, click the Search button near the bottom of the Search Filters dialog box to perform the search. This hides the dialog and reveals the map once again with only properties matching the specified filters shown.
Click the Set Default Filters button to return all the search filters to their default values so that all properties will appear on the map when you click the Search button.
Click the Cancel button to cancel any changes made to the search filters and return to the map.
If you change any of the search filters, a yellow box appears in the top left corner of the map to remind you that non-default search filters were specified. Click this box to return all the search filters to their default values so that all residential properties will appear on the map once again.
There are two other search-related features supported:

Defining Custom Search Regions. You can find properties for sale in any specific geographic region you like by defining a custom search region then selecting the name of the region in the Geographic Region pop-up menu on the Search page. After you perform a search including a custom search region, the region is centered on the map and only properties located inside the custom search region are shown.
To define a custom search region, first click the region definition tool on the right side of the map. Then draw an outline around the desired region by clicking each corner point and finish by double-clicking the last corner. (You can cancel defining a region by clicking the Close button in the yellow instructions box near the top of the map.) When drawing is completed, a dialog box appears asking you to provide a name for the custom search region. Type in any name you like and click the OK button to add the custom search region name to the bottom of the Geographic Region pop-up menu.
To delete a custom search region, choose its name in the Geographic Region pop-up menu on the Search page, then click the Delete this Custom Region button that appears below the name.
You can modify the shape of a custom search region after it has been created and is visible on the map. Simply drag the solid squares shown at the corner points of the region. To add more corners, drag the dimmed squares shown mid way along the line segment connecting two corners. After you make a change, an "undo" button appears; click it to cancel the change.
Click a corner point to remove the point; the region will be redrawn immediately.
If you are logged in to the map, your list of custom search regions will be saved when you quit the map and automatically restored the next time you log in.
- Saving Custom Searches. If you have created an account and are logged in to the map you can save the current search filters so that the search can be repeated quickly and easily at any time. You can also request that email alerts be sent to you when new properties satisfying the search filters come on the market or when the prices of properties change.
To save the current search, go to the Search page, click the Search manager pop-up menu, then choose the Save current search… item; in the next dialog enter a name for the saved search, choose a Send me updates by email option (choose Daily if you want to receive email alerts whenever new properties satisfying the search filters come on the market), then click the Save Search button.
When you request updates by email for a saved search, the email message normally includes only matching properties located within the portion of the map that was visible when the search was saved. Before saving the search, you can change the visible portion to the region of interest by panning and zooming the map. For more control over the region to be searched, define and select a custom search region instead.
To run a saved search, choose its name from the Search manager pop-up menu. Note: Several standard searches appear near the top of this menu; their names are enclosed by brackets, [ Like This ].
To delete a saved search, choose the Delete a Saved Search… item from the Search manager pop-up menu; in the dialog which appears, select the saved search to be deleted, then click the Delete Search button.
Property Information
- Quick Summary. To quickly see the price, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the house size, the lot size, the street address, the number of days on the market, and a photo of the property, click the property's marker
on the map and this information will appear in a small summary box near the marker. Notice that an animated circle briefly appears around a marker after you click it.
Click the MLS® Number button in the summary box to see a detailed information page for the property.
If there are multiple properties for sale at the same location, a dialog appears which includes a list of the properties sorted initially by number of bedrooms. Click a column title to sort by the values in that column (and click again to sort in reverse order). Click the line for the property of interest to show its detailed information page. Click the close icon in the top right corner to hide the dialog.
To hide the summary box, click the close icon in the corner of the box or click any area of the map not covered by the box.

When the map is zoomed out, groups of properties for sale in the same general area are represented by a single "cluster marker" with a number in the centre indicating how many properties have been combined. This is done to make it easier to see map detail when there is a large number of properties for sale in an area. As you zoom in the map (by clicking the cluster marker itself, for example), fewer properties are included in clusters until, at higher zoom levels, individual property markers begin to appear. At this point you can click a property marker to see the summary box for the property as described above.
Click the Heart symbol to toggle the favourite status of the property on and off.
Click the Thumbs Down symbol to toggle the rejected status of the property on and off.
Click the Pegman symbol to activate Street View panoramic photos (see below). If nothing happens, Street View photos are not available in the immediate vicinity of the property.
Click the Information symbol to show a dialog box containing a description of the property including room sizes and configuration.
- Property Detail. To see detailed information about a property, click the MLS® Number button in the property's summary box.
The detailed property information appears in a new window; close it to return to the interactive map.
For properties listed in the Vancouver, Fraser Valley, or Chilliwack regions: If the property shown is part of a strata, you will see the building name (or strata plan number) on the line below the street address. This name is followed by an Apartment symbol ; if you are logged in, you can click the symbol to view information for the strata building which includes lists of active and recently sold units. Click a line in either list to show a detailed information page for the corresponding property. Click the close box to close the strata building information page.
Here are the actions you can perform from the detail page:
- Click to send a brochure for the property to any email address.
- Use the Facebook and Twitter buttons to share the property on social media.
- Click the Heart symbol to toggle the favourite status of the property on and off.
- If an open house is scheduled for the property, its date and time will appear in the lower right corner of the primary property picture. If more than one open house is scheduled, a pop-up menu allows you to see the dates and times for all of them.
- If there is a video tour available for the property, a Video Tour button will appear below the primary photo; click it to run the tour in a separate window.
- Various sections are shown which include more information on the property: Description, Property Details, Features & Amenities, and — if you are logged in — Room Information and More Details.
- Below all the property photos is a list of elementary and high schools (public and independent) close to the property. (The distance of a school from the property is based on a straight line calculation, not the distance of a driving route.)
- If you are logged in a MLS® Sales History is shown. This is a list of any sales transactions relating to the property which were recorded since 2003 on the MLS® System of Greater Vancouver REALTORS®, Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, or Chilliwack & District Real Estate Board. Private sales are not included. Also shown are listing dates and the dates of any off-market events (expired, terminated, or cancelled listings) that have occurred since 2018.
The list of MLS® sales transactions is based on the current PID of the property. If the PID of the property has changed in the past (perhaps it had a temporary PID when it was first subdivided), transactions associated with the old PID will not show up in the list. Transactions may also not show up if the property is associated with more than one PID.
- A list of nearby similar properties for sale is shown. (If you are logged in you will also see a list of nearby similar properties sold in the past six months.) Click the address of a similar property in the list to view detailed information for the property.
A similar property is one located within a 10 km radius of the property to which it is being compared and that has a price within 25%, a home size within 25%, and the same number of bedrooms and bathrooms, plus or minus one; for vacant lots, the price and the lot size must be within 25%.
- If you are logged in real estate statistics are shown in the form of tables and charts for the specific neighbourhood within the region where the property is located. Use the neighbourhood pop-up menu to switch to a market overview for the entire region or any of the region's other neighbourhoods. There is also a pop-up menu for the type of property to be analyzed in the market overview and it initially defaults to the type of the property being viewed. Move the mouse over (or tap) a data point on the charts to see more detail about that point.
Assessed values are shown for properties in the City of Vancouver, City of Victoria, City of Surrey, City of Abbotsford, and Township of Langley. They appear on the detailed information page for a property. Also shown are assessments for the past several years and an assessment history chart. These histories are generally available for all areas of the province even if the current year's assessment is not yet available.
Assessed values are determined annually by BC Assessment, a provincial Crown corporation, and are intended to be an estimate of the value of a property (for taxation purposes only) on July 1 of the previous year (the "valuation date"). For example, the valuation date for 2023 assessments is July 1, 2022. Most municipal taxes levied on a property are based on a percentage of the assessed value with the specific rate depending on the tax category.
An assessed value does not necessarily reflect current market value for several reasons: (1) market conditions affecting the value of a property can change quickly whereas the assessed value always relates to the valuation date, (2) assessors do not often visit individual properties so are unlikely to be familiar with the unique characteristics and general condition of a property which can affect value, and (3) although all assessors follow the same general valuation guidelines, one assessor may apply these guidelines differently than another, resulting in inconsistent valuations even within the same jurisdiction.
Please verify assessment information with BC Assessment. Assessments can change when values are appealed or errors are corrected.
Property Boundaries are shown for most properties included on the map in most regions. In cases where multiple lots are being sold together, the boundaries for only one of the lots in the group is shown. In some cases, where a subdivision is in progress or where the property is a strata lot, the boundaries shown may be of the entire subdivision or strata complex, not of the specific lot being sold.
Boundaries will also be shown for all properties, not just those for sale, at higher map zoom levels. A small dot inside the boundary of a vacant lot or detached property indicates that the property has sold in 2003 or later. Below the dot is the price and year of the most recent MLS® sale. (Dots appear only for properties whose sales were recorded on the MLS® System of Greater Vancouver REALTORS®, Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, or Chilliwack & District Real Estate Board.) Tap the dot to see a detailed information sheet for the property in a separate window.
If you click inside the boundary of a property, the following information, if available, will appear: the address, assessment, PID, estimated bedroom count, estimated bathroom count, estimated year built, and lot size. If multiple properties are located inside the selected boundary (because it surrounds a strata building, for example), an address pop-up menu appears which allows you to choose a specific unit and show its assessment (where available). The lot area will also be highlighted on the map.
For properties located in the City of Vancouver and City of Victoria, a list of recent building permits (back to 2017 for Vancouver and back 365 days for Victoria) will appear. Click a row in the list to see more detailed information about the permit.
Also shown is a list of any transactions relating to the property which were recorded on the MLS® System of Greater Vancouver REALTORS®, Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, or Chilliwack & District Real Estate Board. Sales transactions since 2003 (but not private sales) are shown as well as listing, expiration, termination, and cancellation transactions since 2018.
The list of MLS® sales transactions is based on the current PID of the property. If the PID of the property has changed in the past (perhaps it had a temporary PID when it was first subdivided), transactions associated with the old PID will not show up in the list. Transactions may also not show up if the property is associated with more than one PID.
No guarantees or warrantees of accuracy or precision with respect to these boundaries are made. You should consult original plans, or conduct new surveys, to determine exact boundary positions.
- Property List. To view a list of the properties shown on the map, click the List icon above the map. Click the Map icon at the top of the list page to show the map once again.
Click the MLS® Number button in the list to display detailed information about the property. Click the Map symbol to show the property centered on the map. Click the Information symbol to show a dialog box containing a description of the property including room sizes and configuration.
Properties are initially listed in price order from lowest to highest. To change the order, use the Sort pop-up menu which appears above the list.

Favourites. You can mark properties of interest as favourites to make them easy to spot when viewing the map. If you create favourites while logged in to the map, you will automatically receive updates by email when the price of a favourite property changes, when it sells, or when it goes off the market.
There are two ways to toggle the favourite status of a property:
- Click the Heart symbol in the property's summary box.
- Click the Heart symbol in the property's entry on the list page.
If you are logged in to the map, your list of favourite properties is automatically saved when you leave the map and restored when you return.
- Fresh Inventory. A map marker with a star next to it identifies a property that is new to the market in the past week. The marker for a property where the price has decreased in the past week includes a green arrow pointing downward; if the price has increased, the green arrow points upward.

Schools. Use the Schools button on the left side of the map to turn on and off the display of elementary and high schools (public and independent) on the map. Schools are represented by schoolhouse icons; click a schoolhouse to learn more about the school.

Hospitals. Use the Hospitals button on the left side of the map to turn on and off the display of hospitals on the map. Schools are represented by red cross icons; click a red cross to learn more about the hospital. This button is highlighted in red when it is on.

Agricultural Land Reserve. Tracts of land in British Columbia that have been set aside by the government for agricultural use are part of the Agricultural Land Reserve. Use the Agricultural Land Reserve button on the left side of the map to turn on and off the display of the boundaries of ALR tracts. For more information on the ALR, go to the Provincial Agricultural Land Commission website at www.alc.gov.bc.ca.

Active Properties. Use the For Sale button at the top of the map to turn on and off the display of properties which are currently for sale. When the button is turned on, you will see a panel that allows you to choose the period during which the properties to be shown were listed. If you mark the Or $ changed checkbox you will also see properties that changed price during this period.

Sold Properties. Use the Solds button at the top of the map to turn on and off the display of sold properties. (This includes Pending deals which are unconditional and awaiting only registration at the Land Title Office as well as Closed deals which have already been registered.) When you tap the button to turn it on, you will see a panel that allows you to choose choose the period during which the properties to be shown were sold. Detailed information on sold properties — including the sold price — is shown only when you are logged in to the map.
Sold information is available only for properties that were listed on the MLS® System of Greater Vancouver REALTORS®, Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, or Chilliwack & District Real Estate Board.

Expired Properties. Use the Expireds button at the top of the map to turn on and off the display of expired properties. (This includes property listings that have expired, terminated, or have been cancelled.) When you click the button to turn it on, you will see a panel that allows you to choose the period during which the properties to be shown expired. Detailed information on expired properties is shown only when you are logged in to the map.
Expired information is available only for properties that were listed on the MLS® System of Greater Vancouver REALTORS®, Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, or Chilliwack & District Real Estate Board.
- Price Trends. An arrow following a price indicates whether the asking price has decreased () or increased () recently. The arrow is followed by the percentage difference between the current price and the previous price and then the date on which the change was made.
Google Street View
- Street View Panoramas. Street View is a Google service which lets you explore street-level 360-degree panoramic imagery of an area. You can easily change the direction of view — left and right, up and down — using Street View controls.
There are two ways to activate Street View. The first method is to automatically place Pegman on the street facing a particular property by clicking the Pegman symbol which appears in the summary box for the property. If the symbol does nothing when clicked, Street View is not available in the immediate vicinity of the property. In this situation, you can use the second method (if available) to place Pegman on a nearby street instead.
The second method — available on larger-screen devices only — is to drag the Pegman symbol which appears on the right side of the map. When you begin to drag it, those streets that have a panorama available are outlined in blue; drop Pegman on any of these streets that you wish to explore.
If Pegman is grayed out and cannot be dragged, no panoramas are available for any location currently in view.
When Street View is activated, a Street View window appears, covering the map. Click the Exit Street View button in the top right corner of the Street View window to show the map once again.
You will see lines with directional arrows on them along streets in Street View. Click the arrows to move along the street. When you reach an intersection, you can move onto a cross street by clicking its arrows. On a touch screen device, you can use swiping gestures to change the direction of view.
